What is a Snidbit?
Long ago, Beth and I were sitting in a Sunday evening service, attending the commissioning of a missionary to Portugal that our church was going to support. A friend was preaching, and as he shared about the man being sent out, he paused and then said, ever so winsomely, "I want to share a little snidbit with you."
At that moment, a new word in our vocabulary. It was used immediately after church, as we gave him a hard time for accidentally merging 'snippet' and 'tidbit' into a whole new concoction. We went home laughing that night and told our kids about it. In the days following, 'snidbit' became a favorite word in our family.
Want another serving? I'll take just a snidbit.
Was it a lot? No, just a snidbit.
So when I decided to assemble in one place things I've been writing, I could think of no better name. Actually, I had a few favorites... but those were all taken. Snidbit, on the other hand, was uniquely available!
All that to say, thanks for checking out snidbit.com. While launched in October 2026, some of my writing has existed on various blogs for more than ten years. But The Snidbit is more than a personal archive; I plan to continue to publish new articles here. If you'd like to be notified when new articles are published, then click subscribe today. And thanks for visiting!
